Birmingham to York

Jackie (Sarah's Mum) and I
Staying with Sarah and Damon has been like a dream, feeling like I was staying with the closest of family. It really was extremely special, and the great thing, is I am going back to Brum, next week!! Sometimes dreams do come true, and staying with Sarah after everything both of us have been through, is definitely a dream come true
The Watson/Tierny/Codling Family

Sarah, Jackie and Donna (Sarahs Sister) and young Jake took me into the heart of Birmingham for a look around, and took me to the museum. It was fabulous to see a city with a museum right in the heart of the city, and wow, what an incredible museum. Some of the interesting exhibits were the model of old Birmingham City approx 14th Century. Also the Birmingham Small Arms company, who produced the BSA motorcycle and the Egyptian Exhibits from many thousands of years ago.

Picked up a new pair of Jandels
After the Museum a bit of a walk around town, showed off a few other things, unique to Birmingham, was just lovely walking around with these awesome people.

The three founders of modern Birmingham city.
Mathew Boulton, James Watt and William Murdoch
A shrub Skull, Why? I don't know!!

Me and Jake with the original Iron Man
The worlds largest cast iron statue.

After a wonderful night, at home with Sarah and Damon and Jake, I had an early night, and in the morning I set of for York to visit my friend Rachel, another group member for Lunch.
It was such a wonderful lunch in an amazing town, I was so surprised at the vastness of York, and the steeped history in all things Viking. Vikings still roam the streets here and I was abducted by two of them. Luckily Rachel can talk Viking, and managed to secure my release.
Wiremu and I with the Bronze statue of old York Town

Street Performer, who was outstanding
York Minster, quite an outstanding building
Every street in York, seemed to have
 a few like this

I had such an awesome time with Rachel, and I know we will be friends for life. It certainly makes this Tour so worthwhile when meeting such wonderful people. Rachel, thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me, I just loved the two hours we had together. You are a very inspiring person, and I know our friendship will be one of strength and courage.

And now, onto Hartlepool to see my good friend David, and his wife Debbie.
Upon arrival I was whisked off to a restaurant, which was lovely. A great night with great people really capped off a wonderful day and night.
